Thanks Matt,
I'd figured that out by the time I'd read the last page in the INSTALL doc
and then I saw "USING PHP 3 AND PHP 4 AS CONCURRENT APACHE MODULES" which is
what I want to do and saw that I'd have to check my version of binutils
(mine 2.9.5.0.19 so Its okay, I hope <gulp>,) and re-configure and re-make
anyway.
I typed in:
.configure \
--with-pgsql=/usr/lib/pgsql \ (where it is on my system)
--with-apxs=/usr/sbin/spxs \ (where it is on my system)
--enable-versioning \
--enable-track-vars
That went fine but typing in"
make
which actually ran until:
stub.lo: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [;ibphp4.la] Error 1
make[1]: Leavinf directory <yaddah yaddah yaddah>
make *** [all-recursive] Error 1
I am not a happy camper...
1) Why did I have to do this three times?
Once without apxs, (it wasn't explained that I needed it or why,)
Once without versioning until I finally got to the last page!
2) that it didn't [expletive deleted] work.
I have absolutely no idea why. <sniff><sniff>
At least php3 still works.
This is the Apache configuration that php3 is reporting:
APACHE_INCLUDE=
APACHE_TARGET=

mod_php is from the config file, isn't it? (I'd set them up in anticipation
of getting ph4 working. <sigh>)
