On the make it aborts on the following:
In file included from zend_compile.h:24,
from zend_language_parser.c:147:
zend.h:55: unix.h: No such file or directory
This is caused by a C compiler stub in /usr/ucb. When you configure php tell it how to find the
real compiler:
rm -f config.cache
CC=gcc ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php-4.2.1 \
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache_2.0.39/bin/apxs \
--with-mysql \
--with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl
Solaris 8 has a dummy cc in /usr/ucb which confuses configure. By defining it on the command line
you fix the problem. I'm assuming that you are using gcc here. The other parameters are what
I am using and can be different.
Also, after the configure don't forget to edit line 93 in sapi/apache2filter/php_functions.c.
