Apache and PHP

Hi everyone !
I've just installed and configured PHP just as I want it to work, the 'make' and
'make install' have worked. But when I try to activate PHP in apache, I get the
following error message :
configure:Error: Module source already has to be below src/modules/ to be
activated
My activation command is :
configure
--activate-module=/users/lsi_01/lvanstae/apache/binaire-unix/apache_1.3.9/src/mo
dules/php4/libphp4.a
Is there anything to modify in Apache before doing this ?
If someone could help me, I'd be glad !
