I have tried to compile the source for mysql 3.23.27 and php 4.0.3lpl1.3
on a mandrake 7.1 linux box where apache 1.3.xx is already installed.
Apache restarts ok but when I get a segmentation fault in the error_log.
Now I have seen similar posts but have cannot find a solution yet.
I appologise as I am not at the server now so do not have all the
information at hand but I have tried various options except recompiling
apache.
I have removed previous mysql rpms. I read somewhere that I had to
compile mysql
without thread support but cannot find how to do this.
I have tried configure options for mysql such as:
--enable-thread-safe-client --with-phhread=no --enable-mit-thread=no
For php, I have done:
--with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
I have even tried this without mysql support but does not work.
and modified the httpd.conf so there is no reference to php3.
If anyone is able to help, I can supply more information
I have treied this on 3 different mandrake servers one of which works.
This may be mandrake 7.0 but not sure. One of the servers has apache
modified for MS frontape
2000 extensions. Should mysql/php still work on this server?
build into apache does mysql/php work
