In my opinion we shouldn't remove these (mhash and sockets) from a minor release, instead we should mark them as deprecated (using ZEND_ACC_DEPRECATED) so everybody (who cares) get's the error message and can change his code and we can remove it in 5.3/6.0 without users complaining too much. johannes
