AFAICT magic_quotes_gpc is still "On" in PHP_5_3 and trunk if you don't use any
php.ini:
$ php -n --ri core | grep magic
magic_quotes_gpc => On => On
magic_quotes_runtime => Off => Off
magic_quotes_sybase => Off => Off
Or what did you mean? :)
