Hi Goba!
I have just discovered, that syndic8 provides a scraped version of our homepage for syndicational purposes. The question is if we willSyndic8 just parses the file provided by newsisfree.com.
make our own syndication (as already developed by Adolfo and proposed for the PHP community). The only thing we need to do is to put it to cron and make the output available (much like the mirrors.inc creation code runs).I'd love to have (and build, if nobody has a problem with it) an RDF-Feed for php.net. Adolfo has the whole news in the RDF, I'd only put the headline and the link in it: <item> <title>PHP 4.2.0 RC 1 Released</title> <link>http://www.php.net/~derick/</link> </item>
IMHO it would be great to provide our content for syndication, as many users would love to see it. It would be nice to put the output up daily to http://ANYMIRROR.php.net/news.rss It's not too hard to do this, just that parser.php needs to be put into the cron list at the server generating mirrors.inc, notes files, etc.IMHO the biggest problem is, that the news on php.net are not in a database. Getting stuff from the db and building an RDF is quite easy. But putting news on the frontpage and in the RDF _and_ changing typos and stuf _twice_ could be annoying.
