unknown host when attempting to mirror....

I'm attempting to setup rsync to mirror php.net using the suggested line
rsync -avzC --timeout=600 --delete --delete-after \
rsync.php.net::phpweb /path/to/php/mirror/folder
as mentioned at http://www.php.net/mirroring.php
But as soon as I enter the line, I get
"unknown host: rsync.php.net"
If I attempt to ping it from the server, I get valid returns, but from
va1.php.net
Ideas?
