Please read the warning at the top of http://php.net/globals Goba [one webmaster@php.net] ----- Original Message ----- From: Neuhauser To: webmaster@php.net Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 3:41 PM Subject: Problems with php Dear Sirs, We had a conversation with our internet provider, because we have problems with the php. We tried our script on another server, and it worked perfectly. Now we try to find out, why the same script does not work on my server (www.earthlink.net, domain name: www.RRmotorcycling.com). .....Thank you for the detailed explanation about handling forms. Unfortunately, this is not the cause for the malfunction of the Script. The PHP Source Code for the Form you were referring to is as follows: <form action="<?php echo $PHP_SELF; ?>" method="post" name="form"> As you correctly said, the Output of this is <form action="" method="post" name="form"> However, "<? echo $PHP_SELF; ?>" normally outputs the script's name (in this case it should be "form.php4"). This, along with the fact that Variables posted from Forms are not passed on to PHP correctly, clearly points out the fact, that your PHP Installation is misconfigured/malfunctioning. We also had the chance to test the very same script on a Server with a working installation of PHP4 and it had no trouble running there. Can you help to find the problem?
