Hi!
Now the RSS news feed file is generated and is available from
php.net/news.rss
I have choosen the rss extension, because I thought it covers precisely what
the file is. But as it seems, Apache has no precofiguration for the rss
extension, so it returns it with the default MIME type. The question is how
to
solve this problem:
A) Use .xml as an extension, something like news.xml
B) Set up the MIME association for .rss files and encourage mirrors
to do so (like they did with the 404 error handler)
I think B would be more correct, but it's nearly impossible to acoomplish
for existing mirrors (for new mirrors we can put that httpd.conf part into
the sample at php.net/mirroring). But I don't like A either, as I think it's
a bit too general... Maybe rssnews.xml or something alike... But I would
like
to choose a name to be able to name future RSS feeds using the same scheme
(a possible future calendar feed for example).
