Re: PHP Titles

Dear Manjiri! I am quite angry because of you know. I don't know how to express my feelings politely, but what you have done is considered to be one of the very worst things somebody can do on a mailing list. This is something very small guys do in elementary school now, as they conquer the world of email. Sending very large attachements while you are specifically asked not to send them is itself a bit annoying. Additionaly to this, doing on a mailing list is something considered the worst act against those reading the list. You must know that we do our work for the PHP group free. Some of us, including me use our home internet connection payed by ourself to connect, download email, test modifications, etc. Now considering the fact that not everybody has broadband (I don't have it because it is not technically available here), what you attached were very big files. On my normal modem connection, it took 10 minutes to download one of your mails. You were so kind, to post your mail to the mailing list and to me personnaly, so I received it twice. 20 minutes. Consider this. Do you wait 20 minutes for anything downloading from the internet? Anybody can say now, that I am fool to have a mailbox without filtering, but as I am a part of an open community, and receive many mails from those I have never met, and never talked to, I would not like to set up filters to drop out any mail. Spams are of course deleted... I would like to advice you to read some netiquette before you get to work and do anything that would influence how we think about Wrox. I like Wrox and it's titles (as well as other publishers). But I do think so that this was something that can change the way I think about your company. I tried to be as polite as possible, I may have not succeded in this, but please consider that I am very embarassed...
