i teach a course in web sciprting, and cookies are part of our curriculum
i was going to save the above url as a complete web page, cite the source, and stick the whole thing in the appendix
Well, I don't think so that it worth it, as that page changes constantly, and gets better with every update. So if you print it out now, you probably provide outdated information for those reading the book. Therefore it is better to point to the manual page.
BTW if you would like stick to copy the page, represent that it's copyrighted by the PHP Documentation Team [currently under the GPL license].
