Hi,
I have checked up with the rest of the team about our offer of the geoip
database.
We are more than happy to open up this db completely for an open source
project such as php. We can directly provide PHP the database and its
updates on a regular basis. You are free to use this however you want.
You do not need to put in any restrictions for the official or
unofficial mirror sites or anything like that.
You would however need to write code to access this database. We will be
providing the database in a pure text CSV format. You can convert this
into any format that you are comfortable with i.e insert this into a
mysql / pgsql database or convert this into dbm / cdb format for faster
access etc.
We have already written some sample code to access the database which
can be used as reference.
Do let me know your thoughts on the same.
Warm Regards,
Divyank Turakhia
