Dear Webmaster,
I have been a PHP user for a Couple of years now and have been to the site many, many times. I wish
to give some feedback and suggestions.
First, the site is great! It has a nice sharp look to it and is easy to navigate. Back slaps and
butt smacks to those of you who worked/are working hard on it!
Second, Please consider the main search bar on the website. I personally would prefer it if that
search box remembered where I wanted to search the site. The default is always in the function area.
I mean if I come to the site and search for 'FOO' in OD (Online Documentation), when my
search results are displayed, all I would need to do was type "moreFOO' and it would
search thru OD by default instead of functions. Now I am not saying that I want to be able to set my
own preferences for how I use the site and have you store them in a cookie or anything, that would
be a huge pain in the butt. No simply only remember my last choice from current visit. I hope that
made sense.
Thirdly, This is a big one for me. I made an errata observation in my early visits to the site
but figured it would be noticed soon. Now it has been quite some time and I realized that the longer
I procrastinated, the more difficult the task of correcting it could be. The errata I found is the
word 'DEPRECATED', (meaning archaic, to pray against, express disapproval of, play down
and belittle). I am of the mind that you are confusing this with 'DEPRECIATED' (meaning to
fall in value, lower in estimation or esteem), which is very similarly spelled. They're
meanings are in some form similar, but I believe in the this case depreciate is the correct word. I
have included below some cut-n-pastes from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
(http://www.m-w.com/) for you to peruse.
Thanks much and keep up the great work!
