This is still much better than triggering so many syscalls; the next
thing to optimize is the actual manual pages themselves before trying to
optimize this particular function any more than it is already.

Are there any plans to support more langs here? Iterating through a
one-element array does not seem to be too efficient for me, given your
fine speed increase improvements.
OK but why to have an array which will only have one element in any case???
