Greetings:
I recently became interested in mirroring php.net unofficially, and only the
English version at that. I and a few other developers intend to maintain
this mirror for our own personal use, mainly for the English manual.
Anyway, I wanted to make sure this was okay (I read the guidelines and saw
nothing that specifically disapproves of unofficial mirroring).
The command I used was:
rsync -avzC --timeout=600 --delete --delete-after --include='manual/en/'
--include='manual/en/**' --exclude='manual/**'
--exclude='distributions/**'
rsync.php.net::phpweb /www/php
I don't use rsync too often, but I take it this should be run by a cron job?
If so, I'd only run it once a day so as not to put any unnecessary strain on
your rsync server. I would like to setup an official mirror, but I won't
bother you all about that since there's already a few in the US.
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure I'm doing things right...
Standing by,
Matthew Clark
