Charakter code change to UTF-8 on php.net

When I enter the PHP manual page, the charakter coding in both my Firefox and IE browsers change to
Unicode UTF-8, and the nordic letters ä, å and ö does not get displayed. When I change it back to
ISO-8859-1 they get displayed correctly. Does the browser change to the wrong coding because of an
error in your website?
