The fact that the currently used CNAME is not useable to be checked for
possible setup errors is not a reason for the new name to be unuseable
for this task. In fact that the CNAME is not useable to be directly
checked via HTTP for the mirror site contents indicates that the setup
is bogus, and should not be accepted as an official mirror, since
setting up the name you provide us as a CNAME to be a ServerAlias is
required by the mirroring instructions. Please follow the instructions.
