Hello People, I can't believe the Pablo Arturi's Answer, to the request that we made. Sincerely i think that is a joke of Innocent's day. In first, your Internet Provider (IPLAN) rent de internet access to CABASE and G4(PRIMA, TELECOM, IMPSAT, TELEFONICA) . CABASE rents de internet access to G4. G4 is the only group of ISPs in Argentina that have enough traffic power to provide Internet Access to other companies and not other companies to G4, so others ISPs, like IPLAN pay for the bandwidth. I think that you must consider other Internet Provider for the servers and not us. It is pain to know that you aren't welcome in datamarkets nowadays so we can understand your answer. The G4 have the most amount of traffic in the country. Also, the actual PHP Mirrors (Argentina Mirrors) are out of G4 and into IPLAN, so, if IPLAN fall off, the mirrors FALL OFF (no redundancy). In Datamarkets we don't have problem with bandwidth because the National traffic it doesn't matter, and each company decide if shape or not the bandwidth. However IPLAN must shape the bandwidth because they only rent the Internet Access with "X" amount of bandwidth. IPLAN have 2 connections in 2 ISPs, G4(Only Telefonica) and CABASE, however Datamarkets(PRIMA) is in the G4. I think that is very funny to talk of redundancy in this case, so, is obvious that our Network is redundant, because is the major and more important of the country, and is linked to the other partner's companies that conform the G4 (Telecom, ImpSat, Telefonica). With respect to the load balancing tecnologies, we don't have problems to implement a Round Robin with several servers (could be 4 to begin). It is a pleasure for us to contribute to the PHP community. Also, is interesting to mention that in Argentina we have only 2 companies that provide telephone lines, and that companies are in G4 (Telecom and Telefonica). Therefore, all ADSL and most broadbands connections in the country are in G4. That, talk about magnitude of users that receive a best performance of Download from servers in G4 than servers in CABASE. And last, we have an IP Pool (Class C) granted for LACNIC and we have an agreement with DataMarkets(PRIMA) too, that allow us to be connected directly to the CORE of Backbone in Argentina. Well we hope that you can consider our detailed explanation and thank you very much for the attention. Ps: we hope an evaluation of PHP representative with an objective answer please. Arturi escribió:Well, I felt like I needed to write First of all, you have colocation services in datamarkets. This ISP has no connection to the NAP (Argentinian National Access Point), so you better consider another ISP which could give you more conectivity. To who may be interested, today's argentinian internet has divided its connectivity in 2 main networks, G4 and CABASE (nap). We have a bandwith shaper which allows users to only download at 512 kbps from the same source, so you won't be able to do a test in any way about our bandwidth available, never. And in the other hand, since we have this kinf of control, we can make sure php mirror availability for most users. Better yet, every ISP should do this limitations/controls, otherwise while you were testing xmundo you did make their php mirror downloads unavailable for other users. That's if you really were able to download at 2 Mbps and if XMundo has only 2 Mbps of available bandwidth. Apart from that, we do have 3 physical connections from 3 different providers, and 2 physical connections assigned to the php mirror, and both directions routing (g4 and cabase), you only have one. You can test this at: http://cabase.comsat.net.ar/ and in case you didn't know that, try a better serious ISP. test your IP: g2khosting.com [200.32.8.14] test our IP: php.bairesweb.com [201.216.206.217] (1) test our IP: php.bairesweb.com [200.59.45.3] (2) (round robin dns) http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/lookup.ch?name=ar.php.net&type=A So now, if you can bit our network infrastructure (which could be difficult with a datamarkets/prima colocated service), and since we do this mirror only to help argentinian mirrors get the most fast access to php data (which I think is the idea), I will be yielding our position in the mirrors php site. And to take advantage of this opportunity, I would like to thanks to the php comunity for this *big thing* made (php) which let us improve our services and expand them. Apologizes for my poor english and a happy new year for all of you! Pablo L. Actually we have a very well infrastructure of BandWidth of 10 Mbps and we want to be mirror of PHP.net for provide better stuff to Argentina people. I hope you can read and evaluate this message and we wait your answer.
