#36023 [NEW]: bogus/duplicate bugs need original id

From: ozone at cname dot com Operating system: various PHP version: Irrelevant PHP Bug Type: Website problem Bug description: bogus/duplicate bugs need original id Description: ------------ flagging a bug as "bogus" should prompt the maintainer for a duplicate bug id, to make sure it gets into the ticket (thereby enhancing the search results). i added a comment to manual/en/install.unix.solaris.php; the list of required software at the top of that page should probably mention the fully-GNU-toolchain requirement, as it's not currently explicitly mentioned anywhere (and was never necessary for php before 5.1). Reproduce code: --------------- i opened 36020 (bogus) because 35492 (also bogus) did not usefully refer to 35496 (not returned by search results). 36020 resulted in 35492 being updated to mention 35496, so at least some good came out of it... if i had found 35496 when searching (or had it suggested as a possible duplicate), i would have gotten an answer sooner and not bothered the maintainers.
