OK, this is almost done. Check this out
this sample:
http://www.ulabs.uservers.net/proyectos/php_rdf/parser.php
This output is generated dynamically live
from this code I took from the CVS server:
http://www.ulabs.uservers.net/proyectos/php_rdf/php_web_index.php.txt
I only have to parse out the links from
the php functions and it's done. I just have
one comment:
I'm transforming the print_link functions
to normal HTML <a>'s. I'm also leaving untouched
all the HTML tags embedded in the news. I was
thinking that this may lead to namespace clashes
with validating XML parsers. Should I remove all
of them? I think this is the best solution instead
of trying to declare them as xhtml or something like
that. Or maybe embbedding them in a cdata declaration?
I thinks it's best to keep it as simple as possible.
Please send me any comments you might have.

OK, i've drafted this sample rss sample: http://www.ulabs.uservers.net/proyectos/php_rdf/php_sample.rss I generated it using the perl rss module and manually removed all the namespaces and elements that are not used. In particular I removed the Dublin Core and Syndication modules (and the namespace declarations) to make it simpler. (I figured that since there is not a RSS PHP extension it would make it only harder for people to parse). Please review it and send me any comments you might have. I'll get to work on the home page parser. If you think that any additional information should be included in the rss file let me know as well. Seems good. But why just the first four news items? It would be better to let people get all the news on the front page. Then they can choose the number of relevant news in their own RSS parsers...
