Note Submitter: van [at] webfreshener [dot] com ---- I think it's worth mentioning here that RedHat 9 has issues with OpenSSL/Kerberos support which will cause your compile to fail. The symptom of this issue is the failure of kssl.h to include krb5.h: /usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:72:18: krb5.h: No such file or directory You'll then get a litany of syntax errors the start as follows: /usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:132: parse error before "krb5_enctype" /usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:134: parse error before "FAR" ... Future versions of PHP should address this issue but as of =< 4.3.1 you need to do as follows: $ export CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/kerberos/include then run your configure command $ ./configure ... Hope this helps those upgrading to RH9.
