I think it's worth mentioning here that RedHat 9 has issues with OpenSSL/Kerberos support which
will cause your compile to fail.
The symptom of this issue is the failure of kssl.h to include krb5.h:
/usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:72:18: krb5.h: No such file or directory
You'll then get a litany of syntax errors the start as follows:
/usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:132: parse error before "krb5_enctype"
/usr/include/openssl/kssl.h:134: parse error before "FAR"
...
Future versions of PHP should address this issue but as of =< 4.3.1 you need to do as follows:
$ export CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/kerberos/include
then run your configure command
$ ./configure ...
Hope this helps those upgrading to RH9.
