Almost seven years later, a big big thanks to jay at fudge dot org for his post on using
getlastmod() instead of filemtime in included files.
When called in an included file, <?php filemtime($PHP_SELF); ?> returns 0 in all circumstances
(the Unix Epoch, January 1 1970 00:00:00 GMT) instead of an error or FALSE.
