If you're looking for a good way to turn the alphabet into an array, this seems to be the
quickest method:

$alphabet = array("a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z");
$alphabet = explode(" ", $alphabet);
echo $alphabet[0]; //output: a
?>
