The documentation is wrong. The second argument (filename) cannot be NULL. If it is set to NULL,
imagepng() will try to save the resultant image to a '' filename which generates a
warning. The only way to have the image output directly is to leave off the second argument
entirely, or to use the hidden third and fourth options $compression and $filter.
