Just a brief note on OCI.
When installing Oracle Client just to get PHP working with OCI with a remote server, be sure to
install Oracle Call Interface (OCI). If you try to install the client the typical way, sometimes OCI
is kept off the installation. Use a custom install and go to the programmer's area on Oracle
Instaler.
To have things working, you have to have read and write previleges on ORACLE_HOME (even if running
Apache as root). Try "chmod 755 -R /home/Oracle816" or wherever is your Oracle BASE.
Best Regards to all PHPers
