Named Pipes vs TCP/IP
i have a setup where the 'net server (using PHP) talks to a different db server (which has SQL
Server).
Named Pipes seems to be the faster of the two protocols.
The 'net server needs to use the Client Network Utility (usually
c\windows\system32\cliconfg.exe) - it is the client in this case.
The SQL Server box in my case listens on both named pipes and TCP/IP, as defined in the Server
Network Utility.
