Named Pipes vs TCP/IP i have a setup where the 'net server (using PHP) talks to a different db server (which has SQL Server). Named Pipes seems to be the faster of the two protocols. The 'net server needs to use the Client Network Utility (usually c\windows\system32\cliconfg.exe) - it is the client in this case. The SQL Server box in my case listens on both named pipes and TCP/IP, as defined in the Server Network Utility. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mssql-connect.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+49318 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49318&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49318&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49318&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49318&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49318&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+49318&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
