Alessandro Segala, I've tried your recommendation for changing serializer functions to json in
my caching class. I ran some benchmark and I experienced that json is slightly slower (~10%) in my
case. I've serialized lots of classes, large arrays, strings, serialized variables in my
scripts, and put them into gzcompressed files. Without compression, filesizes would have been up to
500kB.
So if you want to serialize more complex things than single arrays you should use the serialize
function instead of json.
