that "this is not a bug", and to "double-check the documentation" on this issue;
I'm looking at the documentation, and see no mention at all about the inability to return
references in offsetGet, except for the comment referencing the bug itself.
Not that this is unexpected about PHP documentation - crucial limitations are omited from the
reference, with bug reports about them refering back to the documentation.
