I there any way to use HTTP Basic or Digest WITHOUT the browser (UGLY) dialog box at all??
I.e:
<?
$_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'] = $_POST['UID'];
$_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_PW'] = $_POST['PASS'];
?>
so far I've been getting around this with ajax:
XMLHttpRequest.open("get", URL, false, username, password);
...which invokes the browser login behind the scenes to grant access to our protected HTTP downloads
folder
but a pure PHP solution would html&PHP solution would be better.
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
