Note Submitter: Nicolas Duhamel Reason: in docs ---- As i've struggled for several hours without finding out why mysql_real_escape_string() would not work on my page sometimes, and sometimes would, i thought i'd post this: you MUST have an active connection with your mysql server in order for this function to work. It's written in the function description, but it wasn't obvious to me, so I think other people might get into that trap too.
