The documentation is not really clear for me.
Let's take the MD5 algorithm:
MD5 hashing with a twelve character salt starting with $1$
12 characters - 3 characters = 9 characters.
Does it count a '$' character at the end of the salt? (like in the example)
Must be the '$' character added to the end of the salt? Is it required or extra?
For example:
What is the correct string I need to generate for a correct salt for MD5:
"12345678"
"12345678$"
"123456789" <- for me that this one which is correct
"123456789$"
