If the JSON is coming from javascript watch out for undefined variables :
Javascript ( using dojo ) returns this to me sometimes :
{ "index" : [undefined] }
When I pass this to json_decode, it returns null. Make sure that you check all your javascript
variables properly because this can break whatever it is you are doing.
