From what we've seen when compiling apache 2.4.10 on CentOS 6.5 x64, it doesn't default to
prefork mpm as suggested by the article. So rather than wasting a lot of time waiting to see whether
it does or doesn't in your case, simply specify prefork by appending the --with-mpm=prefork
option to your ./configure command. That way you'll be sure.
