an example to use the msql_query function :
$sock = msql_connect("dbserver") or die("can not connect !!");;
msql_select_db("db",$sock) or die("database not found");
$query = msql_query("SELECT * FROM table WHERE id=1",$sock);
while($row = msql_fetch_array($query)) {
echo $row["id"];
}
