My configuration: Windows 98 SE UK, Apache 1.3.12, PHP 3.0.16, MySQL 3.22.34 Please follow these steps: Edit the Apache configuration file: "<apache install-dir>\conf\httpd.conf" You'll have to add: ScriptAlias /php3/ "c:/path-to-php-dir/" AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .phtml Action application/x-httpd-php3 "/php3/php.exe" Now copy the "php3.ini-dist"-file from your PHP3 installation directory to c:\windows (read: your windows-directory) BE SURE TO RENAME IT TO: PHP3.INI!!! Most of the Internal Server errors that Apache gave me, were generated because I've renamed the file to PHP.INI! For most users: the only thing you'll have to edit in the php3.ini file is: extension_dir = c:\<php-installation-dir>\ ; directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside At this time PHP should work fine. Please start Apache, and run your browser, connect to http://localhost/ and test a php-script. If Apache can't handle a php-script, try to run php.exe from the command-line. The error will then be described. As for PHP4, there's a file missing to interact with the MySQL-server. I suppose this will be fixed soon. Please turn to <a href="http://www.analysisandsolutions.com/code/mybasic.htm">http://www.analysisandsolutions.com/code/mybasic.htm</a> to get the MySQL server ONLINE. I am working on a complete GUIDE for Windows 98/NT4/2000 and RedHat 6.0, so watch out! Please mail me for updates! dplus@gmx.net
