One way i have not seen anyone do is
make a config.php file, in that file have a line
ini_set("include_path","/home/virtual/site/var/www/html");
(or whatever the local path is), this can be found out using one of the predefined verables, i
forget which.
Then in everypage, the first page will include config.php using ..\ if neccersary. Then after that
you just include everything as you would from the document root.
Hope it helps, as it took me 2 weeks to perfect this method
