I had the problem that when quering an empty Table(wich might occure one in a while) all my if()
clauses for assigning variables didn't work.
At last I found the resolution, mysql_num_rows suites fine.
So if you have an error of this kind:
Warning: mysql_affected_rows(): supplied resource is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in
/home/.../htdocs/.../test.php on line xx
It might be due to an empty Table!
