Anyone care to comment on the functional differences between the precomplied XML extension and the
PEAR XML package (http://pear.php.net/manual/en/packages.xml.php)?
I'm assuming they are intended for the same purpose (i.e. defining XML tag behavior using PHP
code/logic). I'm most curious about performance and usability differences. I'd expect that
the expat-based extension would be faster, even if you were to cache/optimize the PEAR module. What
are your thoughts?
