This may be a valid bug. However, I cannot reproduce it on any of the systems that I have access to (win98/nt/2k bsdi openbsd redhat). Does the line: <?php $filename = "/motd.txt"; ?> by itself cause PHP to crash? Please read http://bugs.php.net/bugs-dos-and-donts.php. If, after reading this, you feel that you can make a valid bug report, please create one at http://bugs.php.net. - Zak At 06:25 PM 8/31/00 +0000, mcollard@hotmail.com wrote:
With varible declaration on 4+ I noticed that declaring $filename = "motd.txt"; is very effective where $filename = "/motd.txt"; caused PHP.EXE to crash every time. This could just be me. But when declaring files in the root server, don't use a forwarding forward slash.
