note 26319 added to function.gethostbyaddr

Is there any way of doing asynchronous address -> hostname lookups with PHP? I need to lookup between 10 and 100 IP addresses on a single page, but I don't want the page to take longer than 10 seconds to load. If I could launch all the DNS lookup requests at once, I'd be able to get the vast majority back within the 10 seconds.
