If you are having issues with the $HTTP_REFERER preassignee, then post your form data with ahidden
form element, with something like:
<input type="hidden" name="referer" value="<?php echo $PHP_SELF;
?>">
The only difference is, the value of $php_self is relative to the site root, and not relative to the
full Internet URL. i.e.
$php_self = /index.php
$http_referer = www.foo.com/index.php
