Using apache 2.0.39 which I configured and installed to my liking, I
configured PHP4.2.3 with the following:
./configure --with-apxs2=<my_apache_install>/bin/apxs --prefix=/appl/monet/apache.d/php
make failed and I had to make the following edits to the code:
php-4.2.3/sapi/apache2filter/sapi_apache2.c
lines 567, 568, and 569 need to have the argument "NULL" removed. According to the apache
docs there are only 3 arguments to the register filters:
ap_register_output_filter("CONTENT_LENGTH",
ap_content_length_filter, AP_FTYPE_HTTP_HEADER);
Once I made the edits, make ran beautifully and all was well.
