Quoting from expat library documentation: "The position reported is the byte position (in the
original document or entity encoding) of the first of the sequence of characters that generated the
current event (or the error that caused the parse function to return XML_STATUS_ERROR".
So if you call xml_get_current_byte_index within a start handler, you get the offset of the start of
an element. I don't know how to get the offset of, say, an attribute.
