Beware that you cannot easily print the $to string if you build it, because the e-mail addresses
like <john@xyz.com> will be interpreted as HTML tags and not be printed. At least I think
that's why it doesn't print. The following solves it:
$to = "<test@xyz.com>, <another.test@xyz.com>";
$to_printable = $to;
$to_printable = str_replace("<","",$to_printable);
$to_printable = str_replace(">","",$to_printable);
print "sending mail to:<br>";
print "$to_printable<br>";
