It is important to note that using "$string .= 8;" rather than "$string += 8;"
will put it on the end e.g:
<?php
$string = 4;
$string .= 8;
echo $string;
?>
Will display 48 wereas:
<?php
$string = 4;
$string += 8;
echo $string;
?>
Will display 12.
Note: You cannot use "$string += whatever" on a string with text in.

PS Sorry if this is incorrect - I'm still learning.
