If you need a numeric date in a specific format (e.g. 'yyyymmdd',
'yy:mm:dd',...) or some units of time interval before or after the current date (e.g. -1
week, +3 years,...), I encapsulated some task specific date processing into a PHP function named
makedate().
Very handy; just call makedate($unit,$time,$mask) and get the specific numeric date you need.
