I would like to present a method for fixing the old code which is easier to understand and, unless
dealing with many variables, either shorter are marginally longer than the other alternative:
$name = $_REQUEST['name'];
$email = $_REQUEST['email'];
$favorite_color = $_REQUEST['favorite_color'];
isset error checking can then be performed on the shorter named variables, as you would assume, if
necessary, has already been performed in the original code.
